I recently had the opportunity to present a couple breakout sessions about messaging and social media platforms use at the Institute of Police Technology and Management (IPTM) in Orlando, FL, where I had a great time and received some great feedback form attendees.
In the coming weeks I’ll build off the questions and feedback I received, and share some concerns around timely messaging, as well as crisis communications and why it’s so important to have a basic communications plan. These topics aren’t only important for Public Information Officers or Communications Departments, but anyone who has contact with the public with their position.
