Your Town Media Training recently finished a project with the Wyoming Highway Patrol Association, where the goal was to start a conversation about the Wyoming State Trooper, dispatcher, and overall public employee pay increases.
We wanted to help create a vehicle to carry that message in a way that would get noticed, “shareable” to lots of people, and be able to boost that post to the correct audience.
“Coleen worked expeditiously to complete the project, before our legislative session began, where the conversation spread to multiple media outlets across the state,” said Wyoming Highway Patrol Association President-Elect Duane Ellis. “I was able to meet with elected officials and continue the conversation, and expand the conversation from what the video provided,” Ellis said.
“How did we do it?” We got people talking about the issue; best of all: Wyoming policy makers.
When the Governor of Wyoming specifically mentions pay increases in his State of the State Address (13:00) - the momentum is there for a potential “win.” What that “win” looks like – we’ll have to wait until the end of the Wyoming Legislative Session to find out.
Yet, the conversation doesn’t stop. A video, PSA, or “post” will not solve your problems; it’s all about starting a conversation with your audience.
Even the best PSA doesn’t stop DUIs, get people to pick up litter, or solve other issues we work to combat every day. A video, campaign, or social media post can be the conversation starter you need to fight that bigger issue you’re trying to tackle – to get the right people talking about it and try to make a more impactful difference in your community.
So how are you starting the conversation? How are you combating your biggest issues? Are you using the right platforms or vehicles to get your conversation started? Are you getting any sort of return on your investment, and are you tracking that?
Let Your Town Media Training help you get that conversation started! Our proven results can help you combat those everyday issues, and get the conversation started with the right people to make an impact!
