The New Facebook Pages Experience

For those of you who have recently been “volun-told” by Facebook that you will be switching to the new “Pages Experience,” or for those who ripped off the band-aid and jumped into the new “Pages Experience” – I hope you find this helpful. I must also stress that you are not alone in your struggles with the new update, feel, and way of doing business, now.

The main thing you may have noticed is that your “LIKE” button went away, and now only people can “follow” you; read more here about that.

To still increase your audience and gain more followers:

1. Click on your post interactions

2. A list of people who interacted (“liked”) your post will appear

3. From that list, you can invite non-followers to follow your page

Also, the “bio” for your page was automatically shortened – check that immediately, because it’s most likely an incomplete sentence, now.

Pro tips:
Page Likes: If someone likes your Page and is also a follower, they will still follow your new Page
If someone only likes your Page but does not also follow it, these likes will not transition to your new Page. Learn more about likes and follows.
Classic Page Roles, such as moderator and editors, will not be available at this time – there are new names for roles found under page management
You can schedule posts from Facebook Business Suite or Creator Studio.

Although, the initial announcement of the “Pages Experience,” happened in April 2021, it can be a little “buggy,” and pages beginning to roll over to the latest look of Facebook for their government or business pages.

Facebook has offered a lot of walk-throughs and steps for the changes, and sometimes those processes actually work. Until then, I’m happy to build a custom training and walk you and your team through the new “Pages Experience.” Buy ads, and targeting your specific area, as well as continuing to build your audience, followers, and influencers.

Your Town Media Training can set up a virtual training or in person to teach you the basics of social media depending on the audience you are trying to reach. Let’s start working together, today!
